Albright Knot

How to tie an Albright Knot

The Albright Knot is by many considered the best knot for joining two lines of greatly differnt diameters or different materials. The albright knot is a great choice for attacing monofilament to braided line. In fly fishing it is often used to join the fly line with the backing line but it can be used whenever you need to tie two fishing lines together.

I want to join 100lb braid to 400lb mono can I use a double line main to tie a albright knot with the mono? I want a simple strong wind on leader.

Melt the mono or flouro tag end with a lighter so it forms a little bulb at the end of the line. Locks this knot.

I've subscribed to this site and I did not get an email to verify my subscription. Did I do something incorrect?

Question - how do you lock the mono in at the end of the Albright? Mine keeps slipping - is it just more wraps? Great site!!
